When hundreds of brands and creative studios are stuck, thinking about starting a podcast, the first question is usually: “Where and how do we shoot this?”
A professional studio feels like the obvious answer. But the real question they should be asking themselves is: “How do you make any space work like one?”
At MajikHouse, we ask ourselves these questions on every project because any corner can become a studio with the right tweaks.
This was the time we worked on a podcast for Draup, an AI-powered talent and sales intelligence platform. Located in the heart of the city, the Sheraton Grand Hotel is a powerhouse for large-scale events, anchored by a massive convention space. The property stands out for its integrated design, in which the hotel and convention center are connected by a glazed corridor that overlooks lush, terraced gardens and features some fantastic interior spaces.
But we knew the moment we walked in, it wasn’t a studio. It was a hotel space, designed for comfort, not content.

So we did what we do best at MajikHouse. We approached the space like a system.

We partnered with GE Healthcare India to produce their podcast series exploring the future of healthcare technology.
The series features impactful dialogues on policies, innovations, and technologies driving accessible healthcare to the last mile.
This was an Indoor-shoot that needed tweaking, where we had to layer our gear with the background strategically. We stripped away the "office" feel to create an immersive, brand-aligned studio atmosphere. The result was a professional-grade production that turned their standard meeting room into a neat storytelling space.
We produced a multi-episode podcast series for Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai - one of India's top-10 ranked B-schools (NIRF 34th, AMBA & AACSB accredited).
The series mainly covered leadership insights, campus culture, and industry perspectives.
These conversations, as always, helped strengthen the institute's thought leadership and connect with prospective students and the business community.
Here’s another podcast series where we had to convert a guest’s library into a podcast studio. We created Pocket FM's pilot podcast series in Bangalore, highlighting their top writers who came from all parts of India to share their creative journeys and beginnings.
The series gave audiences a behind-the-scenes look at the minds behind some of Pocket FM's most popular audio stories across their platform of 200M+ listeners globally.
Converting a personal space like a library into a high-end podcast studio requires a delicate balance between preserving the room's character and mastering the technical aspects. We meticulously managed sound dampening and light positioning to eliminate the typical "home office" echo while keeping the mood and the setting authentic.
We produced podcast content for Mave Health, transforming a regular room into a perfect podcast recording studio. Mave is a renowned digital mental health platform.
The series featured conversations with therapists, psychologists, and wellness experts, and one of our best episodes featured a popular former Indian cricketer and World Cup winner, Robin Uthappa, making mental health more accessible and less stigmatized for Indian audiences.
The magic happens long before the record button is pressed, often in corners that seem least like a studio. Anywhere a conversation needs to happen, we figure out how to make it work, without forcing the space to become something it’s not.
What most people often look for in a podcast setup, without a doubt, are: The camera quality, the mic quality, and finally the lighting around the guests.
This is understandable and is, of course, the bare minimum.
But what they don’t see is:
A good podcast episode has a lot of thought put into it. This is where we excel.
Because brands don’t operate inside studios. The MajikHouse philosophy is to understand the space in front of you, focus on the important parts, and be as creative as possible. All the brands operate in the real world.
And that means every episode in every location will need a content strategy.
And if your podcast setup can’t adapt to that, You have a limitation.
We’ve never waited for the perfect conditions.
We create them. From most of our shoots, the biggest takeaway has always been that podcasts don’t come from perfect rooms. They come from the right conversations, in the right environment, and at the right moment.
